I cuddle him, rock him gently and I can feel his body go slack as he embraces sleep. All is quiet.
Then, ever so softly, he goes "woof" into the nook of my neck.
My boy dreams of puppy dogs.
We fall asleep in each other's arms. By the end of nap time, however, he has made a 180-turn and his head is on my tummy. He opens his eyes. Stares at my stomach. Then his head snaps up and baby boy is wide awake, grinning. "lellylella", he says, with a giggle.
Bellybuttons are the funniest thing in the world, he thinks.
